A bit of history
Since prehistoric times, the territory of Castiglion Fiorentino has been a vital crossroads between Arezzo and Cortona, with traces of life since the 8th century BC. During Roman times, it prospered as a center of road and economic connections. In the 10th century, known as Castiglione, it began its transition to the free Municipality, but suffered challenges from Florence and Perugia. After several dominations, in 1384 it definitively came under the control of Florence, taking the name of Castiglion Fiorentino.
Under the Medici and Lorraine governments in the 18th century, Castiglion Fiorentino saw a phase of renewal, with the reclamation of the marshy area. During the 19th century, the territory followed the events of Tuscany and the Kingdom of Italy.
The Borgo Santa Lucia farmhouse, witness to this rich history, stands today as an oasis of tranquility, surrounded by the historical and naturalistic beauty of Castiglion Fiorentino. We proudly offer the oil produced in our lands, a tribute to the rich agricultural tradition that has shaped this fascinating corner of Tuscany.
